Where everybody is a little different…

Kluane, Yukon

Kluane National Park in Yukon, Canada is an amazing place.  There are majestic views in every direction.  It was also even colder than it looks.

You can see the wind parting Suzie’s fur.

I have to mention that in the two weeks we spent driving across Canada, we saw wolves on three separate occasions.  Each time was on a roadside while we were cruising along, so I wasn’t able to get any pictures.  We’ve been in Alaska going on eight years now, and have only seen a wolf once, which is pretty depressing.  This includes the time period we spent living in the bush (off the road/off the grid).

We saw lots of other animals in the Yukon too:

Apparently the local outfitters let their horses run loose over the winter.   I believe this is so they don’t have to feed them over the winter.  They “go home” in the spring and back to food for the tourist season.
